It's a no-go for the Ivy League:

The Ivy League has decided not to allow its spring-sport athletes who had their seasons shortened by the coronavirus pandemic to have an additional year of eligibility as graduates, despite the NCAA granting that option earlier this week.

The move, which was announced Thursday, was consistent for the Ivy League with its policies. The conference hasn’t allowed athletes to participate in any sports as graduates.

Asked the Seniors from the late 60’s that got drafted and went to Vietnam, and who many gave their lives for your daughter to play softball

While a local draft board could have drafted someone in HS, they would have received a deferral if requested...typically until they were out of HS or 20 yrs old. The only HS student that I know of that was drafted, got drafted because they dropped out twice previously, was 18 and a freshman. They got a deferral until they were 20, but were still in HS.

Not saying others haven’t sacrifice, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t suck for Seniors.

Arizona recently announced that all 6 seniors will be returning, two underclassmen have put in transfer requests. Cascading effect for a few schools, and likely some graduating seniors.

This ruling is ridiculous. Do every freshman, sophmore, and junior on a college roster also get an extra year? Not sure why seniors are getting a benefit when every kid from 7th grade in up is missing a season.

Does a player with a scholarship get a 5th year of that money? They already got 4 years (as crummy as the education side of college goes during the pandemic, this semester still counts)
