Why?: Softball and baseball are such great sports and a platform for teaching many of life’s integral lessons. The role of the volunteer coach is a pivotal time in a young athlete’s life and has become increasingly challenging due to over-scheduled players lacking fundamentals, parent expectations/demands, and lack of training. We feel like these are contributing factors for diminished interest in baseball and softball in the local area. The purpose of this clinic is to help with some of these challenges - to explain the concepts behind a transformational coaching approach, how to communicate and handle challenging and difficult parents, and how to make the most of the limited practice time you have as a volunteer coach to help players develop key athletic skillsets, keep the game fun, and keep them coming back year after year.
