Hey y’all! 1st year SB coach here in middle school (metro) ball team. So pardon & bear with me for present (and future) rookie questions.

I’ve got 2 players on my team that tend to let the glove drop to the side, rather than driving your glove elbow to generate power on the throws. Both of those players don’t have good pop on their throws... so I am trying to help them up their game, while having fun learning to trust the process!

This is for a middle school softball team (6-8th Grade).

What are some good fun drills that will help get the glove hand involved in generating power in throws?

I’ve tried the following (for RH throwers):

- Kneel with glove side knee UP, starting with elbow facing target, arm up & finishing with throwing arm at hip of glove side and over the glove side knee.

- chest and feet in standing position, both facing target, twist with glove elbow facing target, then snap.

I’m sure there are good techniques out there that can help break a “dead” glove hand/elbow. I just simply don’t know it yet.
