Here Sluggermama.

Here are results for Pennsbury this past year. https://nfca.org/web_docs/campdocs/Pennsbury2015AnalyticsReport.pdf They were timed using a stop watch. (It appeared they were using young laypeople to record the results) In 2014 they used a laser timer and as I recall the times were on average, faster.

Keep in mind, these kids are about 2 years or more older than your DD. She will get faster.............

Interesting stats on the times. Mph for pitching was mostly mid to upper 50's. Very few over 60.

DD (14) attended the slapper camp at the University of TN a few weeks ago. When I asked H how things were going he said, They all look the same(i.e. all small in overall build) and they're all fast! It was good for DD to see how she stacked up since she's usually one of the fastest girls on the field. Some kids have natural speed that can be enhanced and others will never have no matter how hard they try. Such a range! Congrats to your DD.

DD is 13 and ran a 3.3. Fast kid on our team ran a 3 flat. Really fast 12 year old ran a 2.7. Laser timed. Told the 12 year old if you learn to slap you're in.

Timing thing is always suuuuuuper subjective depending on the method used.

If you tell me there were 50 girls at camp and she was top 3 that tells me all I need to know, although if one was at a catchers camp and the other was at a slappers camp that also tells me a lot ;)

You can throw out all the numbers you want but when I put you in a group of your peers do you stand out.

Take numbers you hear on softball sites with a grain of salt. Pitching, running, HR distances, etc.

Sort of like fishing stories, they have morphed into more myth than reality.

The average D1 player runs a 2.9-3.0 if it is clocked the traditional way. Sounds like your daughter is fairly fast for a 12 yr old.

Our organization performs strength and agility testing. Fastest 20yd time in the org measured with lasers was 2.77s (12u), 2.72 (14u), 2.72 (16u), 2.56 (18u). DD is a 1st year 14u catcher and ran a 2.85s.

The fastest softball time ever recorded was Catlin Lowe at a 2.55 so either that 18yo is incredibly fast or the timing methods were different.
