DD's team (12U) started out with only four in the dugout but it was really impractical. From a game standpoint, it was harder for the girls to stay engaged in the game when they were further away.

From a safety standpoint, being in the stands meant that it was impossible to keep the girls six feet away from spectators, people walking their dogs in the park, etc. Coaches tried to keep people away from the stands but they ended up dealing with a lot of unmasked people who didn't appreciate being asked to step away from the girls.

Coaches decided the best solution was to keep the girls in the dugout and masked.

In Texas the only thing that has changed is no handshakes. We have one umpire that tries to stop the strike out infield celebrations. The girls just pretty much laugh and move on.

We've played 2 of the last 3 weekends in and around DFW. Two weeks ago it was a USA tournament and this last weekend was USSSA. There was basically zero social distancing going on and other than a few masks here and there and no hand shakes, it looked 100% back to normal.
