Curve/Drop Curve Pitch Recognition

Thoughts/tips on recognizing a curve/drop curve? Other than buying software, lol

For example, is the pitcher crossing over with her front leg a reliable indicator?

If you are looking at her front leg and not the release your gonna be in trouble. I’m also assuming higher level pitchers wouldn’t be that obvious but maybe I’m wrong. I think a lot of the pickups happen subconsciously the more you see the pitch (assuming it isn’t being tipped pre-pitch). Can you simulate it on a machine so she can see the spin?

Currently I don’t have access to a pitching machine that can put spin on it. Trying to find a way to simulate without that and with no access to a girl who has a good one—-tough riddle!
