For some kids the 'high leg lift' is a way to trick them into loading their core/torso.I'm a bit nit-picky, and prefer a bit more routine (to get into the stance, etc.) and a bit more precise footwork. Step is much bigger than my DD's hitting coach advises, but that's probably more style.
Love the agressiveness, that's for sure.
