Converting old JUGS machine to throw leather balls

If you want to use leather balls I would suggest at the least a two wheel maching. The tire isn't what breaks down the ball, it is the friction with the plate on the top side of the ball. If you look around you can find some two or three wheeled machines out there that will out perform the JUGS brand machines.

I would also suggest pitching live arm to your girls. Buy a good protective screen and stand closer if you need to but they need to learn how to hit and identify balls and strikes. Secondly don't waste your practice time hitting if you don't have a cage or several parents to shag your balls.
