You should be visiting schools to see what your daughter likes and what she doesn't. Time goes so quickly and it is time consuming to visit and target schools, especially the more distant they are. But given time, you'll be able to hone in and strike out schools that are and are not good options.

Recruiting seems to vary wildly and is a very personal journey. As far as emails, get used to most of them going unanswered. Recruiting seems to hit or miss, but from the limited knowledge I possess, it seems to be done via contacts, camps, exposures, references, and email (in order). Add in the covid year and transfer portal and there are a lot of players vying for limited seats.

Many think that if your DD is a stud and sends out a ton of emails, offers will come flowing in and all you have to do is pick one. Recruitment is more like dating, the player and coach have to get to know each other and mutually decide it is a good fit. It is important to narrow the list of schools your daughter is interested in and focus her communication on those schools. Attending camps on the short list is critical.

She is on instagram sending weekly emails on schedule attaching video ect…. We will see what happens but glad to know we are doing the same things as others. 😃
Add twitter. Seems like coaches are on IG or Twitter or both.

You have not mentioned academics once in your post or responses. Realistically, softball is at most a 4 year deal for 99% of the players who play college softball. Many girls do not last 4 years for a variety of reasons. Your DD's academic interests should way heavily in the recruiting process. What are her academic interests? Does she want to be a nurse or a doctor? A lot of programs discourage or do not allow certain majors. Make sure your daughter goes to a school for her education, not just to play ball.

Camps at the schools your daughter is interested in. Just speaking from personal experience. Find out when they are having a camp. Go more than once if possible.

She is a 3.7 student with interest in sports medicine. We are looking at schools that will allow this.

I’d be surprised if there are any schools that wouldn’t allow it. Sounds like she’s a good student and would be able to handle the workload.
