This is a real thing happened on friends 14u.
And follow up to 'when coaches collide/merge post'
Two teams merged.
Only practiced handful of times.
Played several friendlies.

Coach who was head coach of his team now 1st base coach of team merged with.
However it is a two head coach situation.

Throws a drama bomb into the 1st game of 3 to be played that day, by leaving the dugout...for the day.
Yet returns the next day back into the mix of things.
And its odd!

Of course this created a rippling effect of 'stuff'.

What the heck now?

Or is there no solution after this....???
Can this be salvaged???

Reason for leaving dugout?
Argument with other coach? Mad at the umps? Parent issues? Medical emergency?

Was the coach confronted on his return the next day?

Left Disgruntled about team decisions made.

No conversation follow up with falimilies and players.

Add- The day he came back clearly was very odd. Players on edge about his personality.
Parents on edge. Skeptical. Leery now especially with the whole merge thing.
"What have we gotten into?"

Good thing there are two head coaches!

Seriously though some context might help. Did he leave because he was upset with the other coach, he was sick, etc...? Did he leave the complex/field or just go sit in the bleachers?

If he left because he was upset that would be unacceptable to me as a parent. I'd be looking for a new team for my daughter.

Again, I'd have to understand the whole situation.

Merging teams without clear understanding of the new structure, and who has the final say, is a recipe for failure. Unless those involved are close friends who communicate often and well, conflict is inevitable.

once had a HC tell girls in between games at a tournament (they had not played well to be certain) to figure it out themselves as to what drills to run, etc. during the time they had. so DD got them together and did some run down drills, just for somethign to do to keep moving

needless to say we left as soon as that season was over (this was only one of several issues).
