I wanted to reach out to the forum to see if anyone is applying this type of process behind their swings. If so, how and why? I've recently heard about applying this to firearm and archery shooting and know it could be useful to batting, but haven't been able to put my finger on it.

The closed-loop system is directly applicable to drills/training but is also a major part of your at-bat. I'm thinking the open loop almost needs a trigger to go directly to action.

example...
Dugout work (Pitcher tendencies) Pitch call to Pre pitch movements (including tells on grips) to pitcher loads to delivery to location back to pitch call
On-Deck work (Timing) Pitch call to pre-pitch movements to pitcher loads to swing timing back to pitch call
At-Bats - batter pre-pitch routine to pitcher inputs (above) to feedback, (that forks into open loop or closed loop) closed loop would be nonaction to feedback back to batter pre-pitch routing or open loop would be "trigger" to action to output.
