My kid isn't big at all. 14 now 5'3 125ish still throws 56-58. We touched 61 a few weeks ago but was 60 during our session. I'm looking for movement tho. 60 gets rocked

She threw 54-56 at 10u and 56-58 at 14u? Only 2 or 3 mph increase in 4 years.

I have seen high level pitching in so cal. 12u pitchers on pgf teams throw 50-55 game speed. There is one girl everyone knows that throws 60 plus game speed.

Yeah sorry to disappoint. I figured she'd be at 72 by 14u too. Guess we have a year to go I'm not sure what you consider "high level pitching". The fastest we seen in power pool in Colorado at 14s was 56 and that was 1 pitcher. We didn't get to play Mojo but I hear that kid is high 60s? My oldest got to play 18u at IDT in Boulder this season...Now that is "high level". They played some pretty awesome teams with some pitchers throwing 68-72. Best high level fastpitch I've seen.

DD just finished 12U and high was 55 in a game this year. We played in mostly Ga., Fl., Ky, and Al. I didn't see anyone over 56. The year before I saw a 12 year old 58-60.

Saw some All-Star travel ball teams today. Sophomore college pitcher 59-61. High School rising sophomore 56-59, High School rising sophomore 63, not sure age 62, younger girl 54, not sure of age 62, rising HS junior 57, and 3 more 58 range.

Hitting, I think she is to early and gathers twice. Then the bat drags because her hands aren't available. When on time she crushes the ball. Just very inconsistent. I have read that you shouldn't mess with tempo and hers is a lot faster than mine but doesn't seem rushed. We have for the last two years been switching from 40 and 43 ft all the time. Finally just 43

You know what?! Maybe that family is from that Texas/Oklahoma border area? Not sure where Ardmore is at in OK. Could be anyway.

Ardmore is pretty close to the border so you were correct.

Try this during tees and front Toss and even live in games. Have her call out a 1 when she gathers and 2 when she swings. Could help with getting that double gather out without messing up tempo

Like I said, I sat behind a gun at the OKC Challenge where a kid (either Impact Gold or TN Mojo..can't remember) was hitting 55 and 56 consistently. A kid my DD faced (typically plays for Bandits Demarini although she was playing for another team that week) was clocked at 54 by one of our parents and the week later I was told she hit 56 (sitting 54 all game) at a tournament. Like I also said, these kids were huge for 10U, probably at least 5'6" and I am not even going to try and guess the weight (they were not skinny...). I haven't witnessed 60.

Cat Osterman may be the best pitcher of all time and she throws in the low 60's. 10mph under the flame throwers out there. But she can pitch, not just throw.

Back to the batter. She doesn't understand rhythm and timing. I hate to keep going back to the same old Josh Donaldson videos..... but the way he describes rhythm and timing is beautiful. Watch these next two videos and watch them with her. Batters and pitchers need a consistent rhythm to have consistent results. A"spastic" swing, is a swing with no rhythm.
