You must be getting unlucky because KC in June isn't that bad usually, I would guess mid-80's would be average. July and Aug, yes.

and yes it is pretty hot in OK that time of year but OP is from TX

It's not the heat in Atlanta. It's the constant afternoon thunderstorms that wash out games several years in a row for us. We're not with the team anymore, but the parents on my younger daughter's former team all said they wouldn't go again next year because of the constant rainouts.

We’ve been 3 yrs in a row to top gun in mid June and it was over 100 all 3 times. I am incredibly unlucky. I grew up in Missouri and I think it’s just reminding me each year why I moved. This last summer was so hot they had to put a stop to all mid day games and move them to 10pm and midnight I think. Fortunately our hotel still had air many were not so lucky as the electric grid was so stressed you would have thought we were in California
