Drag can cut down on momentum. It also can provide a connection to the ground.

Try it, pitch with no connection too the ground and then use drag too help with the core/pelvis.

If you need examples of both ways just ask.
Why would you want to cut down on hip rotational momentum? ..... because the windmill motion doesn't rely on hip turn.
Show an overhand throw with foot drag.

Yep she's using her legs, hips, hands, etc.. but the drill was used to isolate the obliques (core) to swing and allow everything else to be the result..
The point is to demonstrate NOT USING THE LEGS AS A POWER SOURCE.
Can't show obliques as power source because it doesn't work that way.
Are you in agreement that the obliques turn the pelvis too?

No the point is to isolate the obliques (core)..

I want all hitters to get into a leveraged fyb hitting position before whipping the barrel.. From the position the hands are pulled "down to" utilizing all available resources.. The swing is against the hips extending not with the hips attempting to rotate.. Rotation needs to be the result.

From this position one can hit the fb, and sit off-speed without giving up anything.

I think anchor is a way for folks to remove the rear leg as a driver, although I believe if one sequences correctly its a no teach.
