So Cal
I’m in the camp of “don’t believe it until I seen it” and tell you what...I believe what I posted. Multiple radars on these kids all showing the same numbers. Now I didn’t go saying they are everywhere but they are out there. Funniest part - none of the parents and other coaches act like they have seen a unicorn.

Thinking next time I will shoot a video of the radar and the pitcher, show the birth certificate and ask multiple independent parties to confirm it. What?!? Naw....I’ll just let others continue to live under rocks instead if wasting my time.

Now 280-300’ shots....not seen that yet.

Sounds good, maybe you can chat with those who seen the 12u girls hitting 280'-300' shots to see how they can verify what they've seen. Since you've never seen a 12u hitting a 280'-300' shot, I guess that means you live under a rock as well?

No sir - no rock here. Remember, Im the guy that says he has seen a 12u girl (2 actually) throw 60 in a game. Once I see a 12u girl hit one 280 + I’ll be happy to come back and post that I seen it. Never once said I didn’t believe it was possible. Ive seen several in the 240 ish range this season off 50mph pitching so Id say it’s certainly possible with the right conditions it could happen. Ive seen a BUNCH of 12 year olds with D1 looking swings this year!!

Just don't post and say that you seen it.. record a video so we can all see it, ;)

I sat behind a few radar guns at a 10U tournament around here a few weeks ago where they were clocking 11 YO ( I am assuming they were 11 but I guess they could have been 10) at 54-55 mph (I think it was girls from the Bandits Premier, TN Mojo and Texas Impact Gold Mendoza). No reason to believe that in 2 years time they couldn't be hitting close to 60 (although the ball getting bigger would impact that I guess..)

Work on hitting spots. Speed will come, have to be able to locate. Goes back to the control- command thing

Here is one of the "internet" averages you may have already found:

Age Average Pitching Speed Top Pitching Speed
10u 37-41 MPH 43-46 MPH
12u 44-47 MPH 50-53 MPH
14u 46-49 MPH 52-55 MPH
16u 50-53 MPH 54-57 MPH
18u 53-56 MPH 58-61 MPH
College 59-64 MPH 65-72 MPH

I think it can be argued both ways as there are a tremendous amount of 12 and 13 year olds throwing 60 plus already.....LOL. Just google it and you will find out. LOL.

Below is another KnightSB posted a few years back:

11-years old - High 30's to Mid 40's
12-years old - Low 40's to Upper 40's
13-years old - Mid 40's to Low-50's
14-years old - 50+
Average high school pitcher - 53-57 mph

Hope this helps but many factors involved and really hard to determine what is truthful or not. You hear stories of 11-13 year olds throwing 60 and wonder what you are doing wrong. I am positive there are a few freaks out there that can do it but not as many as the internet claims. I also say "freaks" in a very good way and wish my DD was a freak but she is not, however, she is above the curve on these charts which is all we strive for.

Also, if anyone watched the Sunday game of South Carolina and Tennessee you would have noticed much lower pitching speeds than typical for SEC teams. I was shocked how many pitches by both teams were in the high 50's. Kelsey Oh and Gabby Sprang both were averaging around 58 mph the first inning. Yes, a few jumped into the low 60's but they were consistently cruising high 50's pitch after pitch. Both are freshman I believe but it was one of those games where I was maybe my DD is on track? Who knows, the radar could have been off and I know both can throw much faster but they were not cruising there during the game. Of course, it was a Sunday game and probably tired after a game or two but it was interesting to see.

Again, hope this helps and as many will tell you......speed is not everything!!!! However, you want to be in-line with your age group and hopefully a bit above as well as spin, speed change, etc. It is a fun world and I will leave you with this youtube video....Things that make you go hmmmmm!!!

This video has me spitting milk out my nose!!! 68LOL

So the posted speed limit in this neighborhood is 18 mph??

No it's 30 KMH.

20mph wouldn't be unusual in a USA neighborhood. This is Canada so they're not concerned with mph conversion..it's just kilometers per hour. If anybody read the comments the girl says she pitched in Edmonton.
