DD has tryout this weekend where exit velocity will be measured. Got me wondering what an average exit speed is for an 11YO (tryout is for 12U). I looked online and at a thread on DFP but it was from 2016. I have had more luck getting better feedback and good information from members here than I have anywhere else.

A friend just bought the ball that reads exit velocity. I can't remember the name at the moment. My DD is 13 and according to him the top 15% of 14U exit rates are 53 and above. My DD exit rate was 58. She hits the ball hard for a 5.3 and 125 pound kid. Not a great hitter but hits it hard. Not sure that helped. Diamond Kinetic.

Thanks for letting me know. Guess I should also ask if the speed is measured off a tee or front toss?

Went back and looked at some numbers. We were using a pocket radar with a very good 12U team. High was 74. DD was the only 11 year old on the team and 64. Everyone was over 60 off the tee.

I would assume the device you are using matters greatly.

LOL. Just talked with my buddy and he said DK does barrel speed and pocket radar does exit speed. I going to stick to trying to help my daughter pitch. Sorry for having no clue.

Device absolutely matters. Kentucky handed out numbers at their camp this week measured from blast motion and said their team average bat speed was 61 with a high of 65. Pocket radar bat speeds are much much higher. My 13yo had a bat speed of 58 on blast and an exit velo of 62 measured at a camp. I found it funny that she can throw the ball overhand as fast as she can hit it...

Some measurements you have to take with a gain of salt, we use Blast Motion senor on front toss, daughters bat speed on one was in 70s on a terrible hit based on where the ball would have landed, but on a line drive shot was mid 60s

My 10 year old hits anywhere from 53-60 on front toss and a tee using hittrax with 12u balls.. I'm not sure what the average for her age is.
