Just watching a video (Joey Myers) and he was talking about having a up the middle approach. This is suppose to make it easier to adjust from up the middle to inside or outside locations. The idea is you don't have as big of an adjustment while having a up the middle approach.

What do you believe? Is it to much to try to cover the entire strike zone with a up the middle approach and making adjustments off that approach?

When we hit, we focus gap to gap. In a way, you might consider that "up the middle." For example, when we are practicing going the other way, we want that ball in practice driven to the gap. In games, there is a greater chance that the ball will be driven but it might result in down the line due to the type and location of the pitch.

Approach changes based on count, pitcher, hitter strengths, situations. Approach is more complex than simply thinking go middle
