There are a lot of things to be learned in a travel sports environment as long as that environment is a good environment.
How much is it worth to you that your child grow up to be a good, responsible adult? I can't put a price tag on that.
Yes, there are other ways to do the same thing, but when your DD shows the ability and the passion to do something at a very high level and you believe the experience will help mold them into a good person, why wouldn't you encourage that activity, invest in it?
