Every girl from out of state on a school's roster is a message to the locals that they're not good enough to represent their local school. If those locals would stop being so pathetic and vicariously living through the wins and losses of their local school but instead demanded that the local school develop and field a team of just local kids, then the local kids would be better off for it. Instead they just want to hire California coaches with California connections to recruit California girls and the fans can be satisfied with a program winning now, even if that program tells them that their daighters aren't good enough for it

Yes, all Portland state players should be from oregon, all notre dame players should be catholics from indiana and all west point players should be cadets.

If Notre Dame is wearing jerseys with "Irish" across the chest, do the Italian Catholics from Indiana have to sit?

Maybe the local kids just need to work harder to earn a spot. Do you own a participation trophy company?

Those schools from states void of talent and with current rosters of all out of staters deserve no and would earn no trophies

There is a Catholic University in the PA burbs (won't say the name but men's basketball is a strength).
Anyway for years their softball coach refused to recruit PA girls.
Her reason was that she didn't want to deal with local parents.
They would post on social media "Happy birthday to Sally, our pitcher from California".
They would rather have tier 2 pitchers from the West coast versus top ranked talent in their back yard.

Refusing to recruit local kids would be odd. Having a preference for Tier 2 CA players makes sense because they're still be better that 99% of the kids in PA or most any other state. It's not til you get down to tier 3-4 CA kids that local talent might be better.

Balint is a PA kid.
