Thoughts on his swing. More along the lines of what I was taught growing up. Just thinking.

Dude is a stud! All his numbers trending up. Probably doesn't get barrel behind the ball as early as some might like and maybe even pushes his hands thru a little, but he is the real deal. He hit .286 and had 96 BBs (.394 OBP) and lets not forget 31 HRs. Contrary to popular belief, there is no perfect swing. There are swings that work. His works well.

I downloaded the swing and looked at it. As for why he isn't a .300 hitter I think your right, the swing path looks to be a "V" path. I'll post his swing.

As for the hand pushing, this is an inside pitch, so the hands can come forward a little more as compared to a middle/out pitch.

A few quotes. I paraphrase... ‘get to a good hitting position’...‘balanced’.. ‘all about the hands’...’he wants it more then the pitcher’.. ‘power is the last thing to come, worry about line drives all over the field’. Good stuff.
