My DGD turned 14 in October and just finished her 3rd season of travel ball. She has been able to grow with her teammates with the ups and downs of competition while traveling to seven states playing 142 games.
She has never had a private hitting coach and basically learned to hit by smashing a lot of balls in the back yard. Did go to two weekend college camps for defensive.
She has played C; 1B; SS; 3B; LF; CF and RF. Surprisingly she turned out to be better than average at each position.
At the plate:

Maybe some day she will get the spark to work hard at the game, but I am really happy for her having the opportunity of just going outside to play.
