I use firefox as my search engine on mac; I went to the tools drop down menu; clicked on the web developer tab- then to "get more tools"- it took me to an "add on" page where I searched "block advertisements"- and found "adblock plus" (of course if you google "adblock plus" you may get there directly)- I clicked on it which allowed free installation in about 30 seconds. Now- magically- the ads are gone and I am very happy.

To moderators- the ads are quite intrusive- I would get two-three per page and couldn't get rid of them. One at the top= OK, I could tolerate that for the necessity of maintaining a functioning site-but for chinese women; not so much- I agree with Boomers take on that- there needs to be some discretion- will we be seeing next best viagra-like supplement?

Thank you for this post. From my perspective the annoying ads are gone.

I decided not to block the ads.

I'm perhaps more familiar with the costs of running this site. It does cost money, maybe not a lot, but it does cost something.

The bulletin board software itself needs to be updated to vBulletin 5.0 from vB 4.2.2. The cost is $210 for the software, and the probably another $400 or $500 to install it. The server costs probably $10.00 to $20.00 per month. Yearly renewal of the domain is $10.00.

So, the site probably costs $1000 a year to run.

The money for the forum has to come from somewhere.
