Here’s DD at 14U PGF qualifiers.

DD is at the end of a relay RF - 1B - C.

The runner looked unsure if/how to slide at the plate. It was a hard collision. DD took a helmet to the jaw.

Was there an umpiring judgment in that play?

Can't really tell anything as far as obstruction but tagged in the face might be a concern for the umpire and runner?!
YIKES

The tag was applied on the chest first. Then glove went up as the runner was starting to slide.

I questioned if the runner could have been ejected for colliding with the fielder, and then making an attempt to slide.

I'm proud of my daughter's catcher skills, but maybe more proud of how she supports the team and especially her pitcher. She knows her #1 job is to help the pitcher be successful and to make her look good. Even in her most frustrating games, I still hear her, putting her own frustrations aside, and cheering on her team in the dugout - something I don't know I would be able to!

A few of my favorites from this past weekend with my 2025: Bottom of the 8th, third strike for the third out against the number one team in the state (game ended in a tie, but the emotions were there!)… always takes the time to shake Blue’s hand before the first pitch… and a great play at the plate against a D1 commit!
