I may have started at the wrong end for the top lacing. Just re-laced the fingers and webbing after the original webbing lace broke.

Coaches glove, so maybe 30 years old?

Also cleaned what I could (Lexol) and reconditioned with Surf City Voodoo, with Obenaufs for the interior.

Didn’t do anything with the heel lacing. Was mostly a pancake, but even just doing the fingers helped reshape the glove.

Was also feeling extra-OCD’ish, and based on another post (SBF?), drew a diagram before starting. MUCH easier to use as a reference vs trying to scroll through pics on my phone.

For comparison - above pics were taken with a flash. Without the flash, you get a truer sense of the “scuffing” on the leather.

Great job Gags, way to bring one back to life! On a Rawlings you look at the web spiral and the way the top of spiral lace is leaning, or pointing to when looking at it from the palm side.

See how the top of the spiral lace is pointing to the pinky, so you start lacing the fingertips and spiral starting at the pinky and work across ending at the thumb.

Be honest, lacing a glove can make a smart man feel stupid!

Wow, you had to have spent more time working on that diagram then actually working on the glove! OCD = absolutely!

Trust me, I feel you on the OCD brother!

After midnight, time seems to stand still in my house. (Crap - it’s 3am already?)

But I noticed the gloves were originally laced differently - is it model specific?

The one I did, I just followed the same indentations, and the spirals are leaning towards the thumb. On yours, they’re leaning toward the pinky.

I don’t have an older Rawlings here (metal eyelet era), just my two old A2000’s. On everyone of my “newer” Rawlings, the spiral lace points towards the pinky. My two oldest ones are both 2013 Don Morton Horween’s.

If you did it the way it was before, I’m sure it’s right. I honestly never owned a Rawlings in my life before 2013!
