That's insane. I did have one of my friends who calls HS baseball tell me a funny story this year. He was calling a league game for maybe 14 year olds or so, and a coach asks if the other team minds a kid playing with a cast on his hand. They say no, and the kid takes two out of the park with a cast on a broken wrist.

We had a player on our hs team last year who was having tendon problems in her thumb. She had a brace she wore every game. Until the thumb completely healed, she'd bunt, not using much pressure at all. She is a power hitter, so bunting was not her forte at all! We also had a pitcher step in a hole during a tournament, twisting her ankle. We played one down the rest of that game and took the out each time it was her at-bat. No way was she playing being hurt. Her parents weren't at the game but our coach had enough sense to not let her attempt it and possibly injure herself more! D-U-H!!
