We may have the unique opportunity to demo some 2014 bats. Which ones would you demo, up to 4 or 5 bats. We have mostly 10 year olds going into 2013-14, so if you can suggest length/weight ratio also..

Gimme me your wish list!! Appreciate the feedback!!

I'll stick with bats $300 and under which will exclude the Easton Mako and the Louisville Slugger LXT. Tough to tell without knowing size of the girls but this would be my shot at it thinking about average 10 year olds at average levels. If you've got stronger girls at higher levels of competition you might need some larger bats.

1. Demarini CF6 -11 29/18
2. Demarini CF6 -11 30/19
3. Louisville Slugger Xeno -10 (30/20)
4. Demarini CF6 -10 (30/20)
5. Easton FS2 -10 (29/19)

You should know the size bats your girls use. Most 10u will use between 29-31 depending on size with most in the 30.

cf6 -11 30/19
cf6 -10 30/20
easton fs1 30/20
LS xeno 30/20
rocketflex 30/20

If they are mature 10-year-olds, you'll want a 31" bat or two for them to try out.

1. DeMarini CF6 -11 31/20
2. DeMarini CF6 -10 30/20
3. DeMarini CF6 -11 (30/19)

4. Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno -10 (30/20)
5. Easton FS2 -10 (30/20)

Not knowing the size and strength of your girls makes it harder. However, if it were me and you asked me to go buy four team bats for a 10-year-old team, I'd get the ones in bold, above. Although it is fantastic, I'm just not a fan of the Xeno as a team bat due to durability issues.

I am a HUGE fan of the DeMarini -11 bat for girls this age. It swings light for more control, has the pop of most -10 bats, is very durable and seems better in cool weather than other makes. Same goes for their -10 models, as well.

What ever colors they like the best. Most 10u players don't swing the bat well enough to see much of a difference, between a $30 Walmart bat and a $300 dollar CF6. IMO of course. 29" to 30" -10 should be just fine.

This is where my thinking is when it comes to 10u or even 12u.

Thanks for the input. I have wide range of heights from 5'3" to 4'6". My daughter is 5'1" and 105#.

I guess we could try perhaps 3 upper end bats, one mid range, and one value buy. Like $300 range, $200 range, and less than $100 range.

It will be nice to try some out first...

I think it also depends on the size of the girls. Most of my girls are using anywhere from a 29/16 (my DD uses this - she is 4'8" 60#) up to 30/20. The majority are in the 28/17 range.

I disagree. I've noticed huge differences with girls in 10U using high end bats compared to just "average" bats.

Unless the girls are particularly strong at this age level, there is a noticeable difference in swing speed between the -11 & -10 bats. Most girls will do better with the -11 or even -12 at this level

I agree 100%! That's why I am a GIANT fan of the DeMarini CF5/CF6 in drop -11 for girls this age.
