Three Questions:
Is there a difference between Boys/Men and Girls/Women catchers gear?
Is there some sort of inspection that used gear goes though similar to football helmets? If so how do I tell if equipment meet those requirement?

So let's...

I got an email today asking me about cleats for catchers. I thought I would put it out here and see what is popular and why. This would be for a younger catcher. (Non-metallic) I haven't had to buy any for a while so I can only go off memory. When the DD got really serious about catching, we got...
I love getting out and watching my catchers at tournaments. You see things in the heat of the game that you don't see in a cage at a lesson. I also love visiting with their coaches. I get a lot of feedback on what they want to see in their catchers. (and what they should see in their catchers)...
I was looking at getting a thumb guard for the upcoming season. I'll be catching, and I'm still really new to it, but the past few weeks my thumb has been bent back in my glove really badly. It's actually swollen right now and I had to ace wrap it earlier for school because it hurt so bad...
