East Peoria, IL
I may be relocating near Nashville TN (need to be within 2 hrs from). I currently reside in IL and have a talented 11 year old DD (at least bucket dad thinks so). She works hard almost daily and plays on one of the best 12U teams in IL. So I'm wanting to know what areas in TN should I start looking at for a competitive travel program and high school program. Please provide name of team, school and city.

TN Fury out of Chattanooga is where I would be looking if we were moving there.

Germantown Red Devils, out of Memphis area, does a great job at the older age groups.

Team Worth could be another solid option in Central TN, but not sure if they have younger ages.

All 3 orgs would be great orgs to move up in, if you are looking at the future of your dd.

Anyone know of a good program in Knoxville that has 8U and/or 10U? Seems like all the top programs in east TN are from Chattanooga (Fury, Frost). Anyone from Knoxville make the drive to play on these teams? Anyone on these teams have any feedback.

I feel like we are at a crossroad with one of our daughters - she works really hard, puts in a lot of work and has a lot of drive. She wants to be on a team with girls like her. Right now on her team there are maybe 2 other girls like her, 3-4 who are decent and work hard sometimes and have mostly good attitudes, and then 3-4 who are just not up to par from an attitude aspect with medicore skills.

Need to find the right program for her.

FURY has a good name in the older divisions but not nearly as strong on the younger teams. For 10-U, check out MOJO in Cookeville. They have proven to be pretty dominant.

I coach an '01 team in Middle TN as well as run an organization that has multiple teams. What you will find out is that Tennessee is loaded with very strong teams. It's proven every year at the different World Series events. Check out the Tennnessee Fastpitch Players Group on Face Book and go to some tryouts. Get a feel for where your daughter stands compared to the talent level in the area. Take the opportunity to meet several coaches and families to make sure you find the right fit. The perceived value of who the best team in an area is quite often isn't completely accurate as it's very subjective.

My DD is 18yrs old now and the only team that that ever made our team "scared" was the Fury. We got the worst beat-down ever in Chatanooga one year by a Fury squad that was told to be 8-strong in big D1 recruits.... Something has got to be working right in that club......

Did you decide on a team/program? Our family is facing a similar situation with a eventual move to the Nashville area in June - Aug 2015 and we're trying to figure out HS & travel ball options. My daughter currently plays on one of the top travel team out of SW Ohio which will play a very competitive schedule. She's a 2000 birth year (2019 grad yr)...catcher, 3B/utility type player. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
