Just behind home plate
I got out of the doctors office and have another update for you guys.

The doctor says my surgery site is healing beautifully. I'll have the stitches another week yet and they can be removed. As far as pain...my elbow/arm doesn't hurt nearly as much as it had. I still have some pain...but it's more intense when I've worked it more than I should. She reduced my Tramadol prescription which I only take when the pain is really bad. My range of motion is coming back nicely. I can extend my arm further now. I'm more difficult on myself and want my rehab to be done by now. But...I'm further along than my doctor or the people think i should at this point. I don't feel the plates or screws that are in my arm now. I felt them at first though. I wonder if that means that mentally now they are a part of me? The bummer is that I'll be in the rehab hospital another week. However, I've made an incredible group of friends during my first week here. Different teens, through different injuries, from different walks of life. It's kinda funny though in my new little circle of rehab buddies, we have our four state area all represented (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland).

So, I'm hoping all goes well this week. We're off rehab for the weekend. I'll get to leave the hospital each day this weekend and I'll get to see each of my sister's six softball games this weekend.

In your rush to recover, don't do more damage by pushing your body farther than it is ready for. Recovering completely is more important than recovering quickly.

Don't over do your recovery. Haste makes waste. You could find yourself no better off than when you began if you go too fast in your recovery.

Well, at least I see you took my advice to do all your exercises to heart. Good for you. I had no doubts you would be one of the few who do that.

Other posters have mentioned there is such a thing as trying TOO hard. Check with your health professionals to make sure you aren't overdoing things. Listen to the experts. As the saying goes, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
