DD's 10U team is going to play in the USFA World Series in Panama City Beach Fl. For the first time this summer. I am hoping to avoid as many "I wish I would have known" moments as possible. Any advice, tips, and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Parking was not a problem last year. It was really weird going to a tour and not paying a gate fee. That is included in the entry. Pinnacle Point Properties in Carillon Beach Florida - Vacation Rentals This is a great place to stay(not where we stayed last year). This is about 8 miles from the park if you are playing in PCB.We had to go over and play one day in Panama City, which would double that distance. This is where we go on vacation(if we go there)extreme west end of Panama. Not the party end of town. Boars Head has some of the best prime rib I have ever eaten.

Youll loves it. Dress the kids accordingly to play in their sand boxes. Our pitcher dug a 2 foot hole and one of our base runners stuck like a lawn jart trying to slide home. First time I had ever seen a sand Zamboni . Nice time for all though, enjoy it

I will have to get some photos of the Sand Zamboni! Sounds like a slow track. DD plays catcher, maybe she will gun down a few more than normal.:)

Be there early for opening night and the parade for the pin trading. The girls love it but carry more pins than you think you need because your DD will run out. Also be ready to travel to the parks. We stayed maybe 5 minutes from the main park but ended up playing in Lynn Haven 2 days which is about a 45 minute drive.

It is very hot. We deal with the heat and humidity in Alabama but it was worse. All in all it was a great experience and the girls loved it.

Jdaddy, there are about 4 different parks that games are played at, and field conditions can very greatly depending on the weather. Some we played at were like playing on the beach, and some were like playing in the parking lot. Never had a problem parking, there always seemed to be plenty, but some of the parks are quite big, so it helps to know where the field you are playing on is. Otherwise you can walk a long ways (Frank Brown especially).

Shade is also a consideration if you are playing several games in a row. Early in the week, the games are spread out, but if you get to Friday and Saturday, you will probably play several in a row, especially Saturday. Never had a problem taking coolers in either, so take plenty of water and gatoraide as well as food for between games on Saturday.

Good luck, and have fun!
