AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
One of the 12U teams in my organization spent months fundraising to be able to get to travel to Cooperstown for a tournament. It is a low level tournament, but they were a low level team just looking to make a weekend trip up to see the MLB HOF. They made three payments totaling over $1,700 to Diamond Dreams, only to be told that the tournament had been canceled due to lack of teams. They offered our 12U team an alternate date later in the summer, but they were unable to get enough players for any other weekend.
So, how long do you think is reasonable to expect a refund? A week? A month? Three months? How about NEVER! Try emailing them? Yeh, sure....no response! How about calling them? Nope, that doesn't work either. I have a cell phone number for the coordinator, but she won't pick up and NEVER calls back!
Now we have to spend money to hire a lawyer to get our money back. And as you can imagine, some of the families who are owed a refund have moved on to other teams. What a nightmare!
SIGNING UP FOR DIAMOND DREAMS in COOPERSTOWN IS A GAMBLE. It may be a good time if you go. Of course, we wouldn't know. If they cancel on you, they keep your money and then run and hide!
