Let's bring this thread back from the dead. DD's coaches 14U decided to play one of these.
It is in Rockford IL next weekend. Is anyone here signed up for this or played in any of their
tourny's this year??

I'm just wondering if they made any changes and what to expect. I'm not real picky as long
as things run smoothly. And if I remember correctly, this is a really nice park.

Refund Policy
If Game Day USA must cancel an event prior to the start date of the event, all teams registered will receive a full refund within 10 business days. Once an entry fee is paid for an event, there will be no refunds issued for teams who withdraw for any reason. If an event is cancelled due to inclement weather or field conditions, refund credits will be issued as follows:
 0 games played: Full credit towards a future Game Day USA event either later in 2012 or in 2013.
 1-2 game played: Half credit towards a future Game Day USA event either later in 2012 or 2013.
 3-4 games played: No refunds

No, they have not changed a thing. Stay away from them for all of the reasons listed here.

If you're playing at Sportscore.. It's not too bad a facility to long as the river doesn't flood the complex. My DD played in Rockford so many times she and her teammates started hating it because it was the same thing over and over. There are a couple of other complex's there that are also OK. I wouldn't call any of them stellar, just average.

OH BOY!! I did notice they don't have a list of hotels that we HAVE to book through their site.
It says "hotel info coming soon" Is this my first red flag???

I just looked at the Rockford tournament and see that you are playing at Sportscore. There are only 4 teams in each age division. So you'll get a tournament. It's the boys baseball teams who'll be disappointed.

Years ago when my DD was 14 we played in a couple of their tournaments, mostly because they played in our town in a nice facility and that made it easy for everyone. They don't seem any less organized or less responsive than anyone else. From our experience they were "B" tournaments that are non-sanctioned, but nothing wrong with that if that's what you're looking for, or if that's where your team is at that point in it's development. I've seen worse, I've seen better, either way we had fun.

I wish I had seen this forum sooner. We signed up for tourney at Dells and schedule comes out and I see at 14U seeds 11 & 12 play each other at the same time as the championship game. So I call and the guy tells me that only the top 6 make bracket play. So I say where did it mention that in the rules or any communication. He says "it doesn't. Can I help you with anything else?" So basically an off day and you have no chance to play for the championship. First time i have seen this. Avoid these guys!!

When you're dealing with Game Day you get the same feeling as if you're dealing with a seedy used car salesman.
