Hey all, the Collinsville Extreme Softball Program will again put on the Tom Matysik Classic this weekend. Though it looks like the number of teams is down some, this is a great weekend of local fun softball. I have been attending it since its inception. BB's team will play in the 12U Bracket. There is something here for everyone. They have a bounce house, rides, vendors selling all types of merchandise, and good parking. Teams will be allowed certain times to use the indoor facilities of the Collinsville Extreme and so, this helps sell the program to potential players. They have a "Wall of Fame" where my dd's picture along with others that have gone on to play collegiate ball are displayed. All diamonds are watered between games (at least every 2 games) and re lined for every game.

Tom Matysik was a great man who loved softball but more importantly made softball available to anyone who wanted to play. I once heard him say to a parent that was wondering if they could afford for their dd to join the Extreme, "we will find a way if you want her to play." That person was me. He will long be remembered in this area for his contributions to this sport.
The atmosphere will inclue the smell of corn on the cob from Keller Farms. Home grown and buttered to perfection. The burgers, brats, ... are all so good. In the past, we've had teams from Tennessee, around the Illinois/Iowa border, Chicago, Kentucky, ... all come. Again, it looks down some this year but that won't deter the fun. If any of you are in the area, stop by for great softball and enjoy a great family outing.
