This weekend DD hit a ball between the 1st and 2nd basemen. The other Team only had 8 players, no RF.

We had a runner on 1st and the ball hit her, it would have gone through if it didn't hit her. Umpire called runner out. Runner kicked the ball back to 1st basemen, so umpire called DD out too.

how do you put this in the scorebook?

My take would be that the runner is called out on interference, batter advances to first on dead ball.

EDIT: On how to score DD called out at first, perhaps "E10". :)

Hrmmm..... Did the runner tap and roll the ball back to the 1st baseman, or did she kick the ball hard with attitude?

Sounds like the latter with the umpire making up a rule to address unsportsmanlike conduct by the runner.

Score it an unassisted double play by the closest fielder to the runner.

As others have said, it is a dead ball as soon as interference is called on the runner from 1st base when she contacted the ball and then the batter-runner would be awarded 1st base. [unassisted putout by nearest fielder and base hit to batter] But if the runner was running behind the 1st baseman and 2nd baseman and no other player had the opportunity to make an out, the ball would remain live and the runner would not be out. (USA softball rules)
