LL, Junior division playoffs. Home team is at bat, no outs, down by 2, runners on 1B and 2B when batter hits one out of the park. Runner on 1B (R1)stops to high five batter/runner who passes her on The way to 2B. R1 starts to walk away without continuing to run bases. B/R call her back to finish running bases ahead of her.
Question: what is the ruling here? I thought that as long as the baserunners touch each base in the order they batted, that it wouldnt be an issue. Umpires said that due to one runner passing the other in between bases, one of them was out. They also said that until now, they thought they had seen it all.
