I doubt it.
Unless it is a certain local league rules.
This is the only scenario I can imagine.
For our local leaque metal are not allowed until I think 14U, 16U and above they are allowed for sure.
Like others have said, must be local rule.

Metal for 14U and above is the standard.
I am aware that some parks and field complexes do not allow metal cleats to be used as they claim that metal tears up the fields faster. Could this be the case where you are?
I have seen this for fields that are all turf.
