Nope, nope and nope. The umpire shouldn't be trying to teach the players anything, that is the coaches' job.

If there is a problem with the pitcher's delivery, the umpire should tell the coach ESPECIALLY at such a young age, and let the coach instruct the player on what she needs to do.

I misspoke above. What I have seen done with a girl who was doing something wrong that blue was trying to correct (instead of calling illegal pitches with no explanation) was blue would call time and meet with the coach and player at the same time, and explain to both what the pitcher was doing to make it an illegal pitch. It is then up to the coach to correct the player's action. At the younger ages, I am fine with this, and it teaches the pitcher to correct something while they are still young. I am talking 10U levels.
