Relax there buddy! Do you get worked up this easily all the time? The reason for the post is as the coach of the team, I would like to clearly understand what is illegal and what is not. That is all. This isn't coming from a point of being the "Losing team" (we split with them) or anything like that. We played the girl twice in a 2 day span, on the 2nd day got some video to see what others thought. My #2 pitcher was called for this routinely last year by one well respected ump in our area (and my pitcher's pitching coach, who has coached many Div I pitchers, also confirmed my pitcher was illegal) for doing this exact thing. I just want to know if it is illegal or not - That is all. The goal, at 12U (we are an 11U team), should be to develop good mechanics that you can build off for the future, not wins-losses. We have spent considerable time with our pitcher breaking down her motion to fix this so she wouldn't be called for an illegal pitch this year. And, before you even go there, neither one of our pitchers is my daughter, so their is no so-called "Daddy bias". I am new to the game, but I am trying to teach our kids the proper form and technique so they do not have to "relearn" how to pitch when they get older. If this is a legal pitch, I am fine with that. If it is illegal, I am fine with that also. As a coach, I just want to UNDERSTAND and KNOW the difference.

International rules are Different than NCAA rules. Many different rules... field size, ball specs, bat specs, safety bag espn etc etc
In WBSC pitching rules you can have both feet off the ground and it's a legal pitch.
They changed the rule on having to keep contact with the ground to remove the question of who's legal and who isn't. Same in the men's game.

Like Fight Club, the first rule in televised softball is not to mention the elephant in the room.
She also respectfully didn't point out that she isn't an umpire and her opinion of the call doesn't change what will be called.

Its not my call if it's illegal or not. It's the umpires call/discretion and if they aren't calling it then I can't say it's illegal.
A crow hop is what you're talking about and it has to be seen by the naked eye on the field by the umps. When you see a replay in super slow mo just because you see it they're in the air doesn't mean they are re-pushing. Replant isn't illegal ... re-push is... that's a crow hop as I'm sure that's what you're asking.
It's a touch and tough call. Umps just aren't calling it because it's hard to actually say they're getting a second push. They need to have them pitch on a pressure plate to see if they're actually gaining an advantage.
