Situation - Less than 2 outs, Runners on 3rd and 2nd. (Edit to add, 12u playing ASA)

Ball hit to the backhand side of SS - She fields it cleanly and throws to third to prevent the runner from moving up - Runner from third scores, runner from second does not advance.

Is that a hit for the batter? Or is it a FC - Defensive indifference to prevent the runner from advancing -

Would it matter if she didn't realize there was a force there or not ? She might have got the out at 1b- but it would have had to be an amazing throw.

Just looking for clarification - I was unsure what to score it

Thanks,

D

It sounds like a hit based on your description. If you believe that an ordinary player could get the out at first without extraordinary effort then score it a FC. But, 12u, backhand, long throw from the hole all tell me this should be scored a hit.

Amazing does not equal ordinary so score it a hit.
