    Default Courtesy Runner Substitution Question

Scenario: Pitcher (or catcher) gets on base. Time is called for a courtesy runner. Runner takes their base, play continues.

Later on, if I want to substitute that courtesy runner into the game for a different player, how is that approached? Does the runner have to go in for the P or C she ran for, or is it treated just like a regular substitution?

A player used as a courtesy runner is still a completely eligible substitute. They can be subbed in for any other player, just not in the same half inning they were used as a courtesy runner.
