In high school a game is ended after 3 innings if a team is ahead by 15 or more runs.

What is the minimum number of innings a pitcher must go to be the winning pitcher in a three inning game?
I've seen a lot of pitchers go two innings and the reliever comes in to mop up the last inning.
Does the starter get the win?

How about in a 4 inning game?

Interesting. I would like the answer as well.

Not long ago DD 3 pitched in a JV game that was run ruled after 1 inning by request of the losing coaches, also heavy rains. Won 21 or 22 to 0, faced only 3 batters. Does that count as a win? (And is it different for V and JV?)

A win?? Sounds like a perfect game. Give that kid the game ball.

She didn't get the game ball.

I pointed out to her afterwards she had pitched a perfect game. Yes, it was only one inning, but it was raining hard and really muddy.

The opposing pitcher had pretty much destroyed the pitching circle after going almost 4 times through the entire lineup in the top of the inning.

I know we tried for a definitive answer before here is a thread from a year ago.

https://www.discussfastpitch.com/so...ekeepers-winning-pitcher-games-5-innings.html

there was a note in this thread about HS only requiring at least half the innings for starters. and the default should be pitcher when winning team to took and held lead, exact verbiage is in link as well as NCAA rule set.

Anyway in your example the starter that pitch two innings would be the winner....I think... I'm not an official HS scorekeeper and don't have access to the rule book

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Game is official. Someone has to be the winning pitcher... in this case it is the starter.

I am told there is somewhere where it states the winning pitcher must have pitched at least half the innings available or more in a shortened game.
