We had a game forfeited to us.

The other team was winning 1-0 before they forfeited.

I know the game goes in the books as a 7-0 win for us.

Do the stats on the game stay on the books?

I believe the only sanctioning body that addresses this is NCAA.

I'm not sure, but I believe that any stats accumulated in a game up to the point the game is forfeited, do stand toward a season total.

It depends how DD hit that day. 0-4 with 2 K's, no stats kept. 4-4 for the cycle, 6 RBI's, and 2 SB's, yeah... that stays in the books.

There was an NCAA game in 2015 or 2014 where a D-I team threw in the towel in the second game of a double-header because the coach felt he had exhausted his pitching staff and had no chance of coming back. Felt his team was better served packing up and going home. The game hadn't reached a mid-way point, so it was declared a forfeit, and the stats did not count. A player on the non-forfeiting team had tied or broken some record that got wiped away. The ethics of that maneuver led to a thread on this forum.
