The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, and USA Softball will host its 84th Annual Meeting at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky from October 30 - November 6, 2015.

Any news from the convention?

Haven't heard anything official for that being the reason, but have heard the opinion the reason for name change was because of the payout events. Again, just someones personal opinion, that did not come from anyone in an official position.

Ugh.... I really don't want to go there to play (not saying which one)

And there is nothing normal about Normal, IL (which should be renamed State Farm, IL) and there is no good way to get there. And very, very limited hotels. (Not going there either)

Many of the usual ASA sites are remote and difficult to reach directly by air (e.g. Normal, Moline, Sioux Falls, ...) - you have to fly somewhere else and drive (e.g. Chicago). Normal had enough rooms for 12U Nats in 2009, so the prices were okay. I hope they have enough for 16U since it usually has the most teams.

Dallas seems like an improvement over Mid'land and College Junction.

Looks like Salem (VA) passed on the runt of the litter, 10U.
