I tried searching....I thought I had read here in regard to making a double ball. DD is trying to learn a rise and I think I need a double ball. I could probably figure it out but knowing me it would not go real well. If anyone remembers the thread, if it exists, on how to line up seams, screw length, or a diagram I would appreciate it. I know I could buy one but it would be cheaper to make it myself. Thanks

Instead of a double ball, my daughter uses a softball with two tennis balls 180 degrees apart. So it looks like a totem pole with the softball in the middle. It has helped her build strength as well as give immediate feedback on spin. Just another idea for you to consider.

I think he said drill two holes in one ball and use two six inch screws. I made one a couple years back.

Hillhouse sells them in his web store. I was gonna make one too but figured it was worth the $20 to just buy it and get it over with. I got it within 3 days.

How do you throw a rise with a tennis ball on both sides of the softball? Isn't 180 degrees straight?

It might be easier if I take a picture and share. In the meantime, the tennis balls are on opposite ends of the ball. So as she pulls her elbow down toward release the balls are actually "stacked". In other words one tennis ball on top, softball in the middle gripped with riseball grip, and other tennis ball on the bottom. She then spins the softball and the extra weight builds forearm strength and you can get immediate feedback on spin rate and axis.

Not sure if that helps. :) If not I will just post a picture.

I just use the double ball to work spin speed. I zip tie two wiffles together for this.
I have the ball on the stick for strength.

It's 1 six inch wood screw and 2 balls. Pre-drill a hole and screw them together. If you look in the store on his site, there is a picture of how the seams should be oriented. We have made a couple of these and find them invaluable. He was telling me the wood screws come in a pack of 2 where he buys them. I think that's where you are getting the 2 screws from.
