I'm a bit intrigued by that initial push she's using with her back leg. She's not just falling forward into her drive leg, she's pushing with that back foot/leg. It's really like that push-back drill without the hop back.

I wonder how much of what she does is training and how much is amazing athleticism in finding so many ways to generate the speed she gets?

One thing to be careful of in this video clip......if this is just a drill/warm up pitch then great......in the Japanese Pro League their back foot does not have to be in contact with the rubber so a pitcher can definitely get the landing leg/foot way behind the rubber to achieve this extra push. It is way more difficult to do here in travel ball or college softball since we have to have the back foot touching the rubber.

Hard to tell in the above gif, but I'm pretty sure Ueno pitches with her toe in contact with the rubber.

Would someone please post one of the progression pics that shows a pitcher (in stills, not video) going through all the major points? I have seen them on here a hundred times but now that I want to find one I'm having a hard time. Jennie, Amanda, Cat, whoever. If anyone has that handy I would greatly appreciate it. In the meantime I'll keep searching the forum.
