I meant to ask in my last post: How can I locate a pitching coach to come out and give my pitchers some pointers? I am willing to pay her/his fee myself so that I can get these young ladies a little more help.

Are there resources that I can contact to find out who does this and also know something about their reputation?

Thanks!

Try contacting the coach at your local college or high school sometimes they can point you in the right direction. I've even had a pitcher from the college work with my daughter.

Hal...great resource.

Four years ago, we began with a "local" and commonly-used instructor. My husband and daughter noticed that some of the instruction conflicted with what they had learned about the basics. Nike holds a softball camp at a local college (great camp) where they sought out a college pitcher who had to tear down and rebuild most of the bad habits she picked up along the way. She is now under the instruction of the Assistant Softball Coach of the local University. Getting started with sound instruction spares the time and necessity of tearing down and rebuilding. We learned the hard way...
