Yesterday, in the yard, DD had a break-thru! She was really whipping the ball and finishing belly button to chest. It’s like she finally got it. Just to explain what we do each practice..after warmups, we go to 9:00 drill, then show it, walk thrus, then full pitching. I wish I had my wife film her pitching yesterday, because she really trusted and felt the brush interference and was whipping and had excellent control. Today, I get my wife to record in slow motion and it seems like she doesn’t have it again. Below, I’ve posted a YouTube link with several slow motion pitches. I know she’s not finishing her drag and meeting at the knees (she was doing great at that, but it seems when you fix one thing, other things fall apart). I know she doesn’t have the ball up at 9:00 during her pitch, but does on the 9:00 drill...how can I reinforce that concept? It’s just frustrating because everything was clicking yesterday, and today it’s not. This is my thinking on the pitches in the video (but I could be way off): I think she’s showing some whip and IR, but not to the extent that she’ll realize her full potential. I’ve also included a YouTube video of one pitch that I shared with the forum back in July 2018 for reference where she was. Thanks in advance to you guys for helping a dad out.

Wow! So close! Really good work! When she gets it, I'm saying top 10th percentile! Are you able to post a video from behind with the catcher just in view from the right side?

Ken, thanks for the response! Just so I’m clear, you want a video from behind her slightly to the right so you can see the catcher too right? So you really think she’s close to getting it?

Yes...but then lots of continued refinement over the years. Keep working hard!

You're welcome. Yes, and yes. You/she clearly have a very good handle on the outcome. A couple tweaks here and there and she's WAY ahead of most. Not bad for 16U!

Ken, she’s 11. She’s in her first of 12u! I’ll have that video from behind her posted tomorrow evening.
