10 year old daughter was sick for a few days and when she came back she started striding way left on every pitch just like a screwball
Ever happen to anyone else?
Recommendations?

Without video I am guessing she might be driving off the inside of her drive foot instead over “over her toes” and that has her hip alignment angled that way. Flat guessing though. Pitching with a powerline mat? Video would really help the gurus address the root of the issue better. I can think of maybe 3 things I would want to look at before saying “here’s why”.

Her pitching coach has some videos I’ll try and get them
Just to clarify she recently learned the screwball and was taught to stride left of the power line and now she steps there for every pitch
Wondering if this kinda of thing happens some times
It’s taken a few mphs off her fastball

There is absolutely no reason to stride left or right for a pitch. Later on these antics often doom pitchers from reaching their full potential. Run from any PC that teaches such nonsense.

To Riseballs point...

Take a look around the local competition and decide if you want to brag about your DD or let her level of play speak for itself?

One path involves having 5 pitches at 10u and always being a #2 or #3 on a team.

The other path involves sticking with a FB and CU and focus on the fundamentals and usually become the #1 pitcher on any team.

My daughter had the same issue after learning the screw. We ran through this Doug Gillis drill that is essentially an over correction to get back on the power line. It helped my kid. YMMV.

First off I never said she threw 5 types of pitches
She was excelling at fb and cu
She works hard at it
Pc thought it was time to introduce a new pitch
Definitely a work in progress but she was starting to get the hang of it
I’m new at this she’s only been pitching for 1.5 years
This problem all started last week when she was sick and missed a few days
Not sure if you are being rude FastPitch dad or not but I’m asking a question not bragging

No doubt I was lacking in tact and was rude in making a point and I apologize for that.

Take care
