Do not have a picture handy but I teach it. Will caution you that this requires a well developed rise and a good size set of paws.

Thanks for your response. I’m not sure this grip will be for my DD. She has played around with a couple of grips and thought she may try this one. I was worried about hand size. She is a couple of months away from 12 but a decent size kid.

This is a great example from Chelsea. Notice how the thumb supports the index finger. This was a great grip for her. When Jake was with her at SC last year throwing BP she tried it and saw the benefit but never really got it working consistently.

I get my best spin with the "fatty" thumb off grip... However most girls will loose a few mphs with it... Got to find the balance of speed and spin when deciding upon a grip

Personally, I couldn't imagine my thumb off the ball. In my personal grip, the thumb is such an important part of it as it helps turn the ball. IMHO, the thumb off the grip would mean the ball would have to be further back in the palm in order to maintain control, as is demonstrated in that picture above. More hand on the ball USUALLY equals less speed on the pitch. Not always though. While I know this young lady had a good career in her playing days, I don't think I could ever recommend someone not use the thumb on the rise. But that's just me.

Not a sales pitch (pardon the pun) but there's a picture of it on my riseball DVD cover.

I'll try to take a picture on Sunday at lessons, if I can remember.
