I wanted to say hello to everyone and Thanks for the abundance of information. I plan to get some videos up to get some feed back in the future. TO quickly sum up my daughter, She just turned 11 in Jan., She has been pitching for almost 2 years. Her form started to "break down" for lack of better terms. She started to lean, basically she had no front side resistance as I have read here! The leaning was causing her butt to stick out away from her body, so there goes any B/I. I found some drills to help with this and we started working on them Friday. I know Rome wasn't built in one day so I'm not rushing anything, but I was very excited at how much she seemed to be learning/understanding. I'm at a point now where I am not sure what to do. Her pitching coach is very well known, has a great track record, put many girls into college, but she doesn't seem to be addressing these issues, which is why I decided to learn/research it myself. I really like her, and she has become a friend to our family, but I want my daughter to pitch "RIGHT". So I guess I have 2 questions.

#1. Does anyone have anymore drills for front side resistance? Actually any drills you guys recommend would be great!

#2. What should I do about the pitching coach? Should I talk with her about these issues? Should I look for a new coach?

Thanks in advance, so glad I found this forum! Looking forward to talking with you guys and following up through out the process. (P.S.- What is a DD? Thanks!)

If your coach is as good as you say they will have many drills for FSR , front lean and butt out. However if she is teaching H/E then you may have a problem.
Discuss the issues, what they are working on, what you see and how they would correct it and determine if they are IR OR HE.
If they are HE it’s time to move on

Welcome!

Hansen Principle...Whatever anyone tells you about mechanics (hitting, pitching, throwing...), verify it with slow-motion video of what the best in the game actually do.

Welcome! Something to consider when a PC " has a great track record, put many girls into college". Be sure to find out what they did once they got there. May not apply in your case but there are many PC's, HC's and Big Name Programs that are very well versed in getting girls into a program that is beyond their abilities. As you go through this journey seek out those who strive to help get your DD into the right program, not the strongest or well known program.

So many there are who simply will not do this. Don't be one of those. Always be curious.

Posture is the foundation for FSR. Without it you are fighting everything. Start as close as needed to get perfect reps. Move back and increase intensity only as good reps continue. If you can’t maintain perfect reps, step back up. There are no shortcuts and the more bad reps allowed, the longer the journey. If necessary, take the ball away and “throw” several reps perfectly. Close the eyes or use a net to take away the distraction of control (the number one hurdle for learning good form...)
